VIDEOGAMES
The uncertainty principle
For the annual GMTK Global Jam, I collaborated with a large team as the lead Technical sound designer, where I was responsible for implementing the entire sound design for our project. We used Unreal Engine 5 alongside the FMOD middleware plugin. Within a 96-hour timeframe, I cordinate the music and sound design teams, helping them maximize the potential of the samples they provided, and effectively translating their creative vision into the game engine.

Zonus
For a project, my team and I created the sound design and musicalization for a video game called "Zonus," a rhythm-based game where music plays a pivotal role. Over the course of four months, I led the post-production and implementation process. Using Logic Pro, I mixed and mastered multiple audio assets, then integrated them into FMOD to ensure the audio behaved in a nonlinear way within the Unity game engine. This project honed my skills in audio post-production, mixing, mastering, and real-time audio integration, all crucial for creating an immersive gaming experience.
Cthulus bad day
During a 3-day game jam, I developed a video game titled "Cthulu's Bad Day." This game is a reimagining of the classic "Memory" game, where players must match symbols with a Cthulu theme. In this project, I was responsible for creating and designing all the sound effects, as well as the musical score. I used professional software such as Logic Pro to compose, record, and edit all the musical pieces, and Pro Tools for the sound effects.
Hustle Run
In an experimental project, I was responsible for sound design, musicalization, and implementation. I used Logic Pro and Pro Tools to compose, mix, and master the music, and then integrated the audio assets into FMOD and Unity to ensure dynamic and nonlinear sound behavior within the game. This project allowed me to hone my skills in professional audio software and real-time sound integration.

Music Productions

I served as the chief recording and post-production engineer for a string quartet recording session where they performed a cover of Astor Piazzolla's music. My responsibilities included overseeing the entire recording process, ensuring optimal microphone placement and sound capture techniques to faithfully reproduce the quartet's performance. During post-production, I edited, mixed, and mastered the recordings using industry-standard software to achieve a balanced and polished sound. This project allowed me to showcase my expertise in recording classical ensembles and my proficiency in delivering high-quality audio productions that capture the essence of the music.
I had the opportunity to record myself playing the piano with a Studio Ghibli song. In this personal project, I took on the roles of musician, recording engineer, and post-production editor. During post-production, I meticulously edited the performance to maintain fidelity to Studio Ghibli's distinctive style, applying necessary effects and adjustments to achieve a refined and emotive final sound. This project not only allowed me to express my passion for Studio Ghibli's music but also showcased my skills both as a performer and audio engineer.

I had the opportunity to record a musician performing a compilation of tracks from the Hollow Knight soundtrack. I served as the recording engineer and post-production editor for this project, meticulously managing the recording environment to capture every nuance of the performance. Using high-quality microphones and precise placement techniques, I ensured that each note and melody was faithfully captured. During post-production, I delicately edited and mastered the recordings, aiming to preserve the atmospheric and evocative qualities that characterize Hollow Knight's music. This project allowed me to combine my passion for video game music with my expertise in audio engineering, demonstrating my ability to deliver a polished and immersive auditory experience.
Sound Design

For this project, I was responsible for creating, mixing, and mastering the sound design using Pro Tools. My tasks included crafting sound effects and integrating musical elements to complement the commercial's visual narrative. Leveraging Pro Tools capabilities, I ensured that each sound and effect was balanced and optimized to convey the intended message and atmosphere. This experience allowed me to demonstrate my ability to work with precision and creativity.

I undertook the creation of the sound design of this project using Pro Tools, alongside doubling the voice of the narrator. This involved crafting custom sound effects and seamlessly integrating the doubled narration with background music to enhance the commercial's storytelling impact. This project not only showcased my proficiency in sound design and audio production but also demonstrated my ability to enhance narrative delivery through voice doubling and precise audio engineering techniques.
During my academic journey at Tecnológico de Monterrey, I had the privilege of collaborating with photographer Daniel Chazari on an innovative project integrating immersive audio into a photographic exhibition. This project aimed to enhance visitor experience through advanced technology and sound design. We employed binaural audio techniques and Bluetooth beacons to create a unique multisensory experience, with each photograph having its own bespoke sound design. This experience not only expanded my skills in technology and music production but also taught me the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in cultural projects.
